The social media and communication bachelor’s program offers students both the theoretical and technical training they will need to succeed in the expanding, ever-evolving field of digital communication. Courses in the program focus on the history and theory of social media communication, examining the intersections of technology, human communication, and society. At the same time, however, students also learn about the range of social media platforms and tools that exist, as well as where the field is heading in the future. Finally, with an emphasis on practice, the program gives students ample opportunities to develop their own social media campaigns, as well as more technical skills such as building websites, audio and video editing, and photography for online distribution, which they will need for their future careers in the field.
